I am passionate about helping professionals who wish to become the best version of themselves, create and live the life they desire. To be the best version of yourself is to know who you are, what you want out of life, how you want to live and then actually do it! When you are able to identify your values, passions and meaning and integrate them into the work that you do, you are creating your meaningful work, your vocation, and you are able to live your life congruently with your values.
As a business and career coach, I focus on helping people align their interests, skills, abilities, goals and passions and integrate them into their career. Focusing on these strengths, you bring your best self to work every day, helping you to be more focused and productive, and align your work with your inner self.
With a comprehensive background spanning both higher education and private industry, I have more than ten years’ experience in academia and ten years’ experience in educational publishing. In higher education, I have built new programs, created career-based programming and supported students, faculty and staff in best practices for helping all levels of students, including master’s and doctoral students, build their career paths.
My experience in private industry includes two successful educational publishing start-ups. Through these positions I have extensive experience in project management, research and development, sales and sales training. I draw on my multi-dimensional experience base, combined with a passion for helping people create their ideal career, in my work as a coach. I assist mid-level professionals, managers and executives build upon their career and improve their interpersonal and communication skills to create a winning culture in their company.
On a personal note, I enjoy traveling throughout the United States, Europe and India and proudly boast that I have been to the top of an active volcano and swum in a waterfall in Hawaii, horseback rode in the English countryside, researched, trained and hugged bottlenose dolphins, chanted inside an ancient Buddhist cave in India, explored the ruins of Pompeii, stood at the edge of Niagara Falls, rafted down the Snake River and drove through the old Wild West.
I am highly knowledgeable in cultural awareness and value the great diversity of the United States. I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and dog hiking, traveling and finding peacefulness in nature.
I have a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University with a background in psychology and counseling. As a certified social and emotional intelligence coach, I hold the distinction of Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation.
